My Oh My

Happy Thanksgiving! I caught the early morning ABC news yesterday and almost started crying at all the Thanksgiving-related stories....such as: the Yambilee in Louisiana where they celebrate yams and how amazing they are; a woman in Texas adopted a family that was displaced and homeless by Katrina and baked them a pumpkin pie, found them an apartment, got their kids enrolled in school, and is helping the parents find jobs in their new town; the troops in Iraq got an amazing meal yesterday, including pork (doesn't exist in Jordan), lobster, a huge cake with inches of sugary frosting, and the usual turkey, stuffing, potatoes, etc; and my favorite story, kids making their own Thanksgiving meal, which included a chocolate turkey, and mashed potatoes mixed with caramel sauce.
I spent my day at the Markez, hanging out with Fatima, since everyone else was gone. Majeda is in Aqaba for a week and Nabila is taking a few days off. We played Spider Solitare, I played some Minesweeper, then I read The Secret Garden, which I haven't read since I was a kid. Then I found out that Nick and Jessica split up...I'm sorry Niki, I hope you're ok.
Mom and dad called, which was nice...
I watched some quality CSI: Miami.
I washed some clothes in my sink.
I forgot to eat dinner.
I captured a big nasty bug in a glass and watched it crawl around for awhile.
I let it go this morning.
I showered, with my 3 minutes of hot water.
I braided my hair.


Ok, I'll stop. Basically, I had a reallly boring day. But it's alright. I'm in Karak now to meet up with fellow PCVs. We're going to eat lunch in a bit.
I'm gonna try to post pictures too. If you don't see pictures, that means that it didint work. Again.
