I don't enjoy terrorist threats

The British Embassy just closed, citing "final stage preparations of attacks against westerners." That does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
So, I've gone into safe mode: no Amman, no Aqaba, no Dead Sea. Heading down to Wadi Musa tomorrow to chill out with some volunteers. Oh, it's Eid Al-Adha, by the way, when everyone buys a goat or sheep or camel and slaughters it in the name of Allah. I think it's incredibly sad. Majeda has had a goat since I lived with her (before my beautiful apartment was built), and he's going to die tomorrow. I named him Winston. I fed him some goat food. He did chew through their satellite cable, which I guess makes me a little happy--he doesn't deserve to get his throat slit!!! But at least he made them live without satellite tv for a few days.
Everything else---fine. I've started a rigorous workout routine, thanks to my workout guru Chris Freitag (or something like that), who has a whole line of workout DVDs with Prevention Magazine. She's awesome, she makes me feel so good about myself, even though she's on a DVD.
I've read a ridiculous amount of books the past week, too, including the books my cousins sent(thanks again, they were great!!), the Paolini trilogy, Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner, Naked by David Sedaris (I LOVE HIM), Deception Point by Dan Brown, and The Virgin Suicides, forgot the author's name, also good.
Work is fine...slow, as usual.
Happy birthday to Molly Wafle, Rana Kashyap, and Nikita Malhotra, and Happy Belated Birthday to Aunt Sherry and Kurt Marsh.
If I've forgotten your birthday, sue me.
If there's another terrorist attack in Jordan, I don't know if my nerves can handle it. There's some honesty for ya.
So please, peace in the middle east.

Oh, and thank you Republican Party for being a bunch of idiots...keep it up!!! And it looks like Bird Flu is heading to Jordan---come on down!!! Maybe that will stop the roosters from waking me up at 3am.
